One of the pleasures
of portable operation is the large antenna you can use. At home I am
restricted by space as to the size of my HF antenna for the LF bands. I attach a 41M long wire
to my kite and via static bleed resistor of 1M Ohm it is connected to my
CG3000 antenna wire tuner. I use two 50M wires as a counter poise and the
chassis of my car as an artificial earth. The static bleed resistor is very
important to save yourself from a possible shock and your equipment from
damage.
